2:00 p.m. - 2:35 p.m. - meet in district office with Lindenhurst Mayor Tom Brennan and Councilman Kevin McCaffrey. Discuss Hurricane Irene and other homeland security issues.
7:10 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. - Speak at 3rd Party Club meeting at 21 Main Street Steakhouse, Sayville. Good turnout. Positive reception.
Tuesday, August 30th
9:00 a.m. - 10:05 a.m. - to Bohemia to tape Turning Points show with Frank MacKay (NYS Chairman of Independence Party). Discuss my career and experiences.
Thursday, September 1st
6:30 a.m. - Leave home to drive to Albany for NYPD PBA convention.
9:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. - Phone interview with Irish Times reporter on America in the 10 years after 9/11. Unfortunately, the interview was a typical European anti-American attitude. Totally mindless and biased.
11:00 a.m. - 2:55 p.m. - At PBA convention at Holiday Turf Inn. Receive Man of Year award. Large crowd. Very friendly and enthusiastic.
Friday, September 2nd
2:15 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. - Phone interview on Lou Dobbs Show (WOR radio).
Monday, September 5th
1:10 p.m. - 1:20 p.m. - Phone interview from home with WINS 1010 radio on President's upcoming jobs speech.
Tuesday, September 6th
10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. - To Financial Services committee hearing on terror financing. Held at 1 Bowling Green in lower Manhattan.
5:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. - to 7 WTC for NY Board of Rabbis 9/11 recognition ceremony for NYPD & FDNY. Hosted by Rabbi Potasnik. Attendees included Cardinal Egan, Ray Kelly, Sal Cassano & Jimmy Boyle. Very moving.
Wednesday, September 7th
8:15 a.m. - 9:05 a.m. - To Manhattan Institute 9/11 Conference at Grand Hyatt hotel. Very impressive turnout including Ray Kelly, Bill Bratton and John Timoney. Hosted by Judith Miller. I gave opening remarks.
9:30 a.m. - 2:05 p.m. - At LaGuardia on runway, waiting to take off. Washington, DC flights cancelled.
3:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Take Amtrak from Penn Station to Union Station.
6:45 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Vote on House floor.
Thursday, September 8th
8:00 a.m. - 8:55 a.m. - DHS, NCTC, FBI briefing in HVC-304.
9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. - GOP Conference in HC-5.
10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Homeland Security committee hearing on "9/11 - Ten Years Later." Lee Hamilton, Tom Ridge are key witnesses and do a great job.
2:45 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. - Intelligence Committee meeting former Sec. of State Condi Rice.
4:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Meet with President Homeland Security advisor John Brennan in HVC-304.
7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. - In House Chamber for President's Joint Session speech.
8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. - CNN, MSNBC and ABC interviews in Capitol on 9/11 terror threat.
Friday, September 9th
7:30 a.m. 7:45 a.m. - Phone interview from home with WPIX on terror threat.
7:50 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. - Phone interview with John Gambling (WOR 710) on terror threat.
10:20 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - Interview with CNN in Senate Russell Office Bldg. on terror threat.
10:40 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. - Phone interview with Joe Crummey (WABC Radio 770AM) on terror threat.
