6:30 – 7:00 p.m. - boxing with Chris Cardona in Bellmore.

Tuesday, August 17th
6:35 – 6:45 a.m. – phone interview from home with John Gambling, WOR Radio on WTC Mosque.

7:30 – 7:45 a.m. – phone interview from home with Michael Smerconish radio show in Philadelphia.

10:05 – 10:30 a.m. - met with Jason Horowitz, Washington Post reporter in Starbucks on Church Street in lower Manhattan around the corner from the WTC Mosque. During our meeting Gov. Paterson called me on my cell phone to thank me for my statement on the John Gambling show supporting the Governor’s proposal to make a state property available for the mosque across from Ground Zero. Told me he would be meeting with Mosque officials in the next few days.

11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. - to One Police Plaza in lower Manhattan to meet with NYPD Dep. Commissioner David Cohen for intelligence briefing.
 
12:30 – 3:30 p.m. – phone conversation with reporters from Daily News, Newsday, AP, Reuters, WSJ, NY Post and Washington Times over Governor Paterson’s scheduled meeting with Mosque leaders.

2:30-2:35 p.m. - phone interview with Marcia Kramer (WCBS-TV) on Gov. Paterson’s WTC Mosque meeting for 5:00 news. (Watch here) 

3:40-4:10 p.m. - present WWII service medals to Anthony Petchonka of Bethpage who served in the Navy in the Pacific.

4:15-4:20 p.m. – phone interview with Fox 5 NY for 5:00 news on WTC Mosque and Gov. Paterson.

4:25-4:50 p.m. – present WWII service medals to Nicholas Caifa of West Babylon who served in Navy in the Pacific.

Both Mr. Petchonka and Mr. Caifa are terrific guys with wonderful families. Like so many WWII veterans they never ever thought of getting their medals when they were discharged. It was their families who requested the medals now.

5:00 – 5:15 p.m. – tape interview with AP TV on WTC Mosque.

6:45 – 6:50 p.m. – tape interview with WNBC-TV for 11:00 p.m. news on Mosque. (Watch here) 

7:00 – 9:45 p.m. – meet with Nassau County Police Foundation and Commission Mulvey on NCPD training center.

Wednesday, August 18th
8:40-8:50 a.m. – phone interview with John Gambling (WOR radio) on WTC Mosque.

11:30 – 11:40 a.m. – interview from West Babylon with Fox News on WTC Mosque and Nancy Pelosi calling for investigation of people opposed to the Mosque. (Watch here)

10:00 – 11:50 a.m. – attend funeral mass for Denis Dillon at St. Agnes Cathedral. Very large crowd. Well-deserved tribute.

1:30 - 2:20 p.m. - interview at Channel 55 with Richard Rose.

3:00-3:10 p.m. - tape interview is district office with WABC-TV on WTC Mosque and flood insurance for 6:00 news. (Watch here)
