Saturday, July 3, 2010
10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. - Wantagh July 4th Parade, then to reception at Wantagh American Legion Hall.

12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. - 9/11 street naming ceremony in North Merrick for New York Fire Patrol Officer Brian McCauley who died earlier this year from illness related to work in Ground Zero recovery effort. Very large crowd. Much enthusiasm and emotion. Other 9/11 families including Jim Boyle and Marge Arce were there. Kate Murray did terrific job.

3:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. - welcome home party for USMC MGY SGT Jim McEniry who just came back from Afghanistan. Family and friends were happy to see him home safe and sound.

7:45 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. - July 4th Party in Southhampton at Lally Weymouth's house. Many celebrities, lavish spread. Not quite what I was used to growing up in Sunnyside.

Sunday, July 4th
6:30 p.m. - 10:15 p.m. - to July 4th parties in Oyster Bay Cove at Chuck Dolan's home and Michael Ashner's home. Celebrity sighting was Ringo Starr at Dolan's.
