Tuesday, July 27th
8:30 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. - Telephone interview from Capitol Hill Club for IMUS (Fox Business, WABC Radio) on everything from BP to fall elections. Lot of bantering and insults. (See Video)
9:15 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. - GOP Conference at Capitol Hill Club.
11:20 a.m. - 11:25 a.m. - Interview with Fox News Channel regarding Wikileaks.
12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Meet at Powers Court Restaurant with ten young professionals from Northern Ireland and Ireland who are here on a State Department program. Very interesting and encouraging dialogue.
2:30 p.m. - 2:50 p.m. - Meet in 339 Cannon with Jon Adler, head of Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association.
3:40 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. - To House floor for votes including consideration of Kucinich amendment to remove US troops from Pakistan (H.Con.Res. 301). I voted no. It passed 222-196.
5:45 p.m. - 6:10 p.m. - Votes on House floor including vote to fund troops in Afghanistan and Iraq (H.R. 4899). I voted yes. It passed 308-114.
Wednesday, July 28th
8:10 a.m. - 8:20 a.m. - Phone interview with John Gambling (WOR Radio) about Afghan leaks and Long Island Sound legislation. (Listen here)
10:00 a.m. - 10:40 a.m. - Financial Services Committee hearing.
10:50 a.m. - 11:05 a.m. - To CBS Studios at 400 N. Capitol Street to tape interview with Marcia Kramer (WCBS-TV) attackign leadership for lack of courage on 9/11 health bill.
11:10 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. - GOP Conference in 345 Cannon.
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Speak at Heritage Foundation on Obama Homeland Security policies.
3:45 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. - Votes on House floor.
5:40 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. - To Russell Senate Office Building to tape interview with WABC-TV on 9/11 healthcare bill. (Watch here)
6:05 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. - At CBS Studio to tape WCBS-TV interview on Arizona immigration bill court ruling.

Thursday, July 29th
8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. - Meet with Defense Secretary Gates in Minority Leader's office in the Capitol. Focus was on Afghanistan and Iraq, plus the danger caused by recent leaks.
9:10 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. - Breakfast meeting with CIA Director Leon Panetta at Intelligence Committee.
12:50 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. - To House floor for votes.
2:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. - Meet in 339 Cannon with Chris Ward, Executive Director of the Port Authority.
4:10 p.m. - 4:20 p.m. - Phone interview with Sean Hannity (WABC Radio). Congressman Mike Pence was also a guest. Main topic was Charlie Rangel.
5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - House floor for votes.
8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. - To House floor for debate on the 9/11 healthcare bill (HR 847). I strongly support the bill and was disgusted by the phony procedure the Democrats used because they are requiring this bill to get a 2/3 majority. This makes the whole process a cruel charade. Even though the bill did get a majority (255-159), it failed because of the artificial 2/3 majority they required. A sad day.
9:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. - Votes on House floor.
