10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. - At press conference in Hauppague with Rep. Steve Israel to announce legislation to have Library of Congress maintain oral histories of 9/11 first responders.
11:15 a.m. - 12:10 p.m. - get numerous phone calls from reporters and 9/11 family sources that AG Holder will announce that KSM will be tried in military commission - not in civilian court. This decision was long overdue and reverses the worst decision ever made by an Attorney General.
12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. - Delta Shuttle from LaGuardia to Reagan Airport.
2:45 p.m. - 2:55 p.m. - Tape CNN in office on KSM for 5:00 p.m. broadcast.
4:00 p.m. - 4:20 p.m. - To WNBC studio at 400 North Capitol to tape WNBC-TV on KSM for 6:00 p.m. local news and national nightly news.
Getting press calls on report that a severed pig's foot addressed to me was intercepted at a Maryland Post Office.
6:30 p.m. - 6:40 p.m. - One vote on House floor.
7:00 p.m. - 8:40 p.m. - GOP conference in HC-5. Discuss continuing resolution and government shutdown. Strong support for John Boehner.
9:00 p.m. - 10:05 p.m. - Dinner at BLT Steakhouse with Eric Cantor and GOP Committee Chairmen.
Tuesday, April 5th
7:10 a.m. - 7:25 a.m. - Phone interview from D.C. apartment with John Gambling (WOR Radio). Discuss 9/11 trial and "pig's foot" mailed to office.
9:30 a.m. - 9:40 a.m. - Live interview from Cannon Rotunda with America's Newsroom (Fox News) on KSM trial.
1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. - Votes on House floor.
6:02 p.m. - 6:07 p.m. - Phone interview with Fox 5-TV on KSM trial and pig's foot.
Wednesday, April 6th
9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. - To Financial Services Committee in Rayburn Building for votes on Capital Markets Subcommittee legislation on Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac.
12:04 p.m. - 12:20 p.m. - Meet with developers to discuss progress at World Trade Center.
12:30 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. - Votes on House floor.
2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. - Votes on House floor.
2:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. - GOP Conference in HC-5 on continuing resolution. Boehner does well.
4:20 p.m. - 4:50 p.m. - To Capitol Hill Club. Meet with NY Assemblywoman Jane Corwin who is running in Chris Lee's seat. Very impressive candidate.
