4:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. - To H326 in Capitol for Chairman's meeting with Majority Leader Cantor. I tell them I oppose legislation on Wednesday's calendar which is intended to cut US funds to UN which would kill necessary security construction at UN.
6:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. - To House floor. Vote to extend PATRIOT Act (H.R. 514). Unfortunately, it fails to get the necessary 2/3 vote (279-144).

10:00 a.m. - 12:25 p.m. - Homeland Security Committee hearing with DHS Secretary Napolitano and NCTC Director Mike Leiter. Informative. Napolitano says terrorist threat highest since 9/11.
12:55 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. - To House floor to speak against and vote against HR 519. It is well intended. However, $100 million was programmed for essential security improvements at UN which the NYPD says are absolutely essential. Bill is defeated.
5:05 p.m. - 5:20 p.m. - Radio interview with Sean Hannity.
