Friday, January 28, 2011
5:10 p.m. - 5:20 p.m. - tape interview with Anderson Cooper (CNN) on radicalization hearings. Because of crisis in Egypt, interview will be held until next week.

6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. - dinner with Larry & Helen Elovich at Dario's in Rockville Center.

Saturday, January 29th
Late afternoon Jim Burke calls my Chief of Staff Kevin Fogarty to tell him his daughter Kyleen is in Cairo where she has been spending a college semester. He hasn't heard from her since Wednesday; believes she is stuck with 41 other students at a demonstration. (I met Jim after 9/11 where his brother FDNY Capt. Bill Burke was killed. Great family) Kevin and Adam (of my DC staff) do excellent job contacting State Department, as well as Hillary Clinton's personal staff. Contacts are made with Kyleen. Hopes to leave Cairo on Tuesday for Islanbul. I talk with Jim who is concerned but solid as a rock.

6:20 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. - dinner with John and Maryann Delach at Toscanini's in Port Washington. Lively and informative political talk.

Sunday, January 30th
8:35 a.m. - 8:50 a.m. - live phone interview from hom with Religion on Line (WABC Radio) on Egypt crisis and state of the union speech.

11:20 a.m. - 11:25 a.m. - live Fox News interview with Jamie Colby from Village Video in West Babylon. Discuss DHS decision to change color coded terror alert.

1:15 p.m. - 1:25 p.m. - tape WCBS-TV interview from home on Kyleen Burke case. For tonight's news.

3:35 p.m. - 3:40 p.m. - tape interview by phone from home with Fox% news on Kyleen Burke for tonight's 6:00 p.m. news.

5:35 p.m. - 5:40 p.m. - tape Channel 12 interview form home on Kyleen Burke and radicalization hearings for 10:00 p.m. news. (See all video here)

Updated all day by State Department on Kyleen Burke. So far, so good.

Monday, January 31st
10:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. - speak at UJA meeting in Manhattan. Discuss crisis in Egypt and radicalization hearings. (Read here)

12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. - to PAL monthly meeting at 350 Park Avenue. Ray Kelly and I were guest speakers. Former DA Robert M. Morgenthau introduced us. Former Mayor David Dinkins and Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance were there. Terrific turnout. Discussed terror threats to New York.

2:15 p.m. - 2:25 p.m. - interviewed in lobby by Jonathan Dienst (WNBC-TV) on NYC terror threats.
