10:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. - to Nassau Police weekly counter-terrorism meeting in Massapequa. As always, very informative.
12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. - Delta Shuttle to DC.
2:10 p.m. - 2:20 p.m. - Brief phone conversation in DC apartment with President Obama on tax compromise legislation. Cordial and friendly.
4:00 p.m. - 4:35 p.m. - Meet with Irish Ambassador Michael Collins in 339 Cannon. Discuss Irish economy, peace process and upcoming elections. Michael is an old friend and is always a top professional.
6:15 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. - Votes on House floor.
Wednesday, December 15th
8:05 a.m. - 8:20 a.m. - Phone interview with Bill Bennett on his national radio show. Discuss Wikileaks and homeland security.
8:30 a.m. - 8:50 a.m. - Meet in 339 Cannon with DHS Deputy Secretary Jane Lute. Discuss nuclear detection plans.
9:00 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. - GOP Conference in 345 Cannon. No idea what year end schedule is.
11:20 a.m. - 11:35 a.m. - Phone interview with Homeland Security Newswire.
12:50 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. - To House floor for very routine votes.
2:15 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. - To House floor for votes.
3:00 p.m. - 4:10 p.m. - To Intelligence Committee (HVC304) NCTC briefing on worldwide al Qaeda threat.
4:50 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. - To House floor for vote on repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell". I vote NO but bill passes 250-175.
6:10 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. - To Georgetown for reception for Tony Blair who I strongly believe is a true giant on the international scene and an unflinching ally of the United States. I have met with him a number of imes over the years and worked with him on the Irish Peace Process. I was able to speak with him for a few minutes tonight and he was kind to acknowledge me several times in his remarks.
8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. - To Tysons Corner Virginia for Intelligence and National Security Alliance dinner honoring NYPD Sgt. Gus Rodriguez for his outstanding counterterrorism work. Gus is a great guy and I was proud to introduce him and present him with his award.
Thursday, December 16th
9:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. - Meet in GOP Whip (and next Majority Leader) Eric Cantor's office in Room 307 of the Capitol. All GOP Committee Chairman came there to discuss agenda for next year.
11:45 a.m. - noon - Votes on the House floor.
12:15 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Phone interview from 339 Cannon with Luiza Savage of Macleans magazine regarding US-Canada homeland security relationship.
12:40 p.m. - 12:50 p.m. - Tape interview in 339 Cannon with Marcia Kramer (WCBS-TV) on tax cuts an earmarks for tonight's news.
2:00 p.m. - 2:25 p.m. - Votes on House floor. Democrats are totally screwed up on how to proceed on tax bill. Very chaotic. House goes into recess as they try to figure out what to do.
