Friday – November 6, 2009

12:00 Noon – 12:50 p.m. – To GOP conference on Pelosi healthcare bill. Appears Dems are still short of 218, might actually be losing “yes” votes.
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – To House floor for votes including honoring Yankees for winning World Series
3:20 p.m. – 4 p.m. – To house Floor for votes on the chemical plant legislation – Voted for a number of amendments but against final passageof the overall bill because of its environmental extremism.
5:30 – 7:00 p.m. – To Delta Shuttle to New York for Fighting 69th Dinner at the National guard armory on 26th St. and Lexington Avenue
7:30 p.m. – 10:15 p.m. – Large turnout at 69th Makin Day dinner honoring survivors of the unit which attacked Makin Island in November 1943. Also guys there from Iraq campaign. Terrific evening. They even put up with my speech.
10:15 – 11 p.m. – Back to Seaford
Saturday, November 7, 2009
8:00 – 8:55 a.m. – US Air Shuttle to Reagan for health care votes
9:30 – 10:20 a.m. – Routine votes on House floor, still uncertain if Dems have healthcare votes
11:15 – 12 p.m. – President Obama meeting with Dems in 345 Cannon, down hall from my office. Still short on votes for passage.
1:10 – 1:35 p.m. – To House floor for votes on the rule for the healthcare debate. I vote “no” but rule passes (242-192). Now the debate begins. Final votes probably won’t be until almost midnight.
10:05 p.m. - 11:15 p.m. - to House floor for final series of votes. Pelosi healthcare passes 220-215 (39 Democrats vote no).
