6:45 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. - speak at giant Nassau GOP rally at Levittown Hall. Largest crowd in years. Terrific enthusiasm.
7:45 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. - fundraiser by South Asians hosted by David Lee at his home in Oyster Bay Cove. Most were from South Korea. Very solid support.
Friday, October 29th
9:10 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. - to Retired FDNY breakfast at Lindencrest Diner in Lindenhurst. Large crowd. Very friendly. (Watch video)
Just before 10:15 a.m. I received a call from Mike Russell, the Republican staff director for the Homeland Security Committee, telling me there was a serious airline plot and that John Pistole, the head of the TSA, wanted to brief me as quickly as possible. I immediately returned to the district office and spoke with John Pistole at approximately 11:00 a.m. He gave me the details regarding the explosive device originating from Yemen. We then discussed what could and should be said publicly.

10:00 a.m. - phone interview with Sean Adams on WCBS radio.
11:21 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - phone call from DHS Secretary Napolitano. Discuss further details of bomb plot.
12:50 p.m. - 12:55 p.m. - phone interview with BBC radio on Yemen plot.
1:30 p.m. - 1:40 p.m. - interview with Fox News from West Babylon on Yemen.
1:50 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. - tape Fox interview with Catherine Herridge.
2:15 p.m. - 2:35 p.m. - phone interview with Daily News reporter Larry McShane and Allison Jindha.
6:45 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. - retirement dinner for former Chief Ray Kuhner at Seaford Fire House. Great neighborhood gathering.
7:45 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. - anniversary dinner honoring Joe Cairo's 35 years as Executive Leader of North Valley Stream GOP. Held at Sand Castle in Franklin Square. Magnificent crowd - more than 600. Terrific tribute to Joe. Real intensity for Tuesday's election.
Sunday, October 31st
7:50 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. - phone interview with Religion on Line (WABC radio). Discuss Yemen bomb plot.
8:15 a.m. - 9:35 a.m. - to Temple Emanuel in Manhattan (65th & 5th) for memorial ceremony of NYPD's Shomrim Society. I receive Otto Raphael award. Very good crowd. Talk to a number of police officers who worked with my father. Ray Kelly was main speaker.
9:50 a.m. - 11:05 a.m. - to CBS studios on W. 57th for Face the Nation. Talk with Bob Schiefler before show. On show discuss Yemen plot and Tuesday's election. (Watch here)
12:20 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. - phone interview with Bob Grant (WABC radio)
7:05 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. - to Long Beach Chamber of Commerce dinner at the Sands in Atlantic Beach. Good crowd. Larry Elovich ran the show. Everyone predicting big GOP victories.
Monday, November 1st
