King and Weiner Hug and Make Up

Reps. Anthony Weiner (D-Brooklyn/Queens) and Pete King (R-L.I.) infamously went at it when the 9/11 bill failed in late July.

They’ve patched things up — mostly — since then, and provided a show of unity today for 9/11 responders mounting a push to get the measure passed next week.

“Some of you might have seen that when the debate came up last time, I got my Irish up a little bit,” Weiner, who is Jewish, said. “And you might have seen that Peter King got his Yiddish up a little bit.”

Weiner said the anger was merited, because of the cause, but that he and King are now united, since they both want the bill to pass.

“There is zero space between me and Peter King in trying to get this done,” he said. “We are shoulder to shoulder, in fact, we are literally shoulder to shoulder,” Weiner said, posing for the above pic.
